Gwylim Johnstone – Owner
Gwylim Johnstone is an Australian mechanical engineer, machinist and prototyper who has specialized in creating custom solutions for iconic brands, international museums, and local artists. Over the years, Gwylim saw a growing need for instant quote laser cutting and bending services in the New York City area, and in 2023 launched Wombat NYC.
In his previous roles, Gwylim's work has spanned more than 15 years, ranging from feature films such as Mad Max: Fury Road to numerous kinetic artworks, with a common theme of creatively applying engineering principles throughout. He has worked with museums such as The Guggenheim, Bilbao and Hauser & Wirth, Zurich to design and install works for well known artists. He lives in Brooklyn, New York with his wife, Eliza, and their baby boy, Wiley.
Adriane Devereux - Operations & Business Development
Adriane Devereux is a proven brand and business builder with over fifteen years of experience in fast-paced environments serving global brands, national nonprofits and early-stage startups. She has helped launch companies in a variety of industries, including marketing services, ecommerce, health & fitness, career consulting, and fashion.
Adriane joined the Wombat team in early 2024 to support both operations and business development. She’s a “Texpat” who resides in Brooklyn with her husband, Johan, and their young son, Mo.
Katie Treidl - Fabricator
Katie is a tinkerer at heart, mechanical engineer by education and an artist on the weekend. With a diverse background in design engineering, Katie brings a wealth of experience. She’s great at CAD design for 3D parts and installations, prototype creation, and project problem-solving from inception through installation.
She enjoys cross country road trips to go hiking and climbing in the west with her boyfriend, Dylan.
